Sitio Tira o Zoio is owned and produced by Edivaldo Fernandes Eler in Cabeceira de Sao Jorge community in the city of Irupi, in the Caparao region of Espirito Santos. Espirito Santo has two harvest periods; one starts May/June - September and the second is called the "March Flower" and usually starts in October through January. Our Corrego Cabeceira micro lot is from the second harvest.
Edivaldo grew up on a coffee farm, cultivating and learning from his father with a desire to one day become independent. In his youth, Edivaldo bought a coffee processing machine and started to provide services in the region. This work sharpened his understanding and furthered his desire to be a producer and have his own farm. He bought a smaller farm in 2005, Sitio Tira o Zoio which is about 9.0 ha with 6.0 ha of coffee grown between 820 - 900 meters. Total annual production is 250 bags. About 170 of the total annual production is pulped natural with pre-drying done on open patios and in a dryer.
Mr Edivaldo is a very dynamic farmer and seeks a challenge. He loves diversity and in addition to coffee, he grows grapes, passion fruit and guavas. He always participates in meetings and symposiums to continue learning. Coffee is his main source of income and since 2011 he has been working to improve more and more the quality of the coffee.
