Truck drivers in Brazil are on strike, in response to high fuel prices. In the past, these strikes have lasted a few hours; it has now been several days, and the situation is escalating. Reports from our colleagues at exporter Stockler advanced from the expectation of a 30-hour strike, to major highways being nearly at a standstill, gas stations running out of fuel and—as of Friday morning—a halt to all cargo vehicles. Even delivery cars are being stopped.

Consequently, coffees currently headed to the port will experience delivery delays.
