Konkua Okipa is from the Konkua Okipa Coffee Cooperative in the Agarabi/Kainantu region in the Eastern Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea (1,700-1,898 masl). This coffee is from its 147 members and grown in black and brown/red loam soil surrounded by Casuarina, albizia, schizomeria sp. and stemona sp. shade trees. Ripe cherry is hand-picked, pulped, fermented, washed and sun-dried. The climate is hot with a wet season between September and March. The Konkua Okipa Coffee Cooperative is NASAA Certified, and working on various farmer training initiatives such as HIV/AIDS, financial management, personal viability, gender equality, coffee husbandry and Certification standards & procedures.
