I have coffee in my genes—I grew up in Mexico, where my grandfather co-owned a little coffee farm and roastery. He brought me to see coffee when I still was a toddler. Even as a little child I loved to play around the farm.
In 2014, I started my 2-year apprenticeship at NKG in Hamburg, Germany, where I once more realized that I wanted to work in the coffee business. During that time, I discovered my passion for all kinds of specialty coffee—especially at the cupping table. This is why I was happy to start at the quality lab for InterAmerican Europe, after earning my degree in 2017.
First concert: When I was 11 years old, I ran into a free concert by a famous British singer all the little “angels” were dreaming of back then.
Profession you wanted to be when you were a kid: A designer. Until I found out that I cannot draw at all.
Favorite coffee memory: Realizing that coffee was growing on a tree, back in the days when I was living in Mexico. I was 5 years old.
