Kristian Jordan has spent the last three years focused on Quality in the dairy industry. After beginning as an intern, she worked her way up to become the site’s Safe Quality Food (SQF) Practitioner. While she wasn’t working in green coffee directly, she worked for a supplier of dairy products to many West Coat roasters and is excited to find new connections with them.
Kristian has a Bachelor of Science in Food Science from California State University, Fresno. She is a Preventative Controls Certified Individual (PCCI) and is also certified in Hazard Analytics and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and SQF, all of which have shaped her understanding of the importance and direct impact that companies and individuals can have on food safety and quality.
In InterAmerican’s San Diego office, Kristian is learning to run a Quality Control lab, while also assisting the Logistics team.
First concert: The Killers!
Random fact about me: I am 50 percent Bermudian. My dad was born and raised in Bermuda! They are probably the most gorgeous beaches you could ever visit (but I’m a bit biased).
Best coffee memory: An espresso I had in Italy. Instead of getting an internship (like I should’ve), I went to Italy to be an au pair. On a day trip to Venice, I found a small café. I don’t know if the coffee was anything spectacular. But absorbing the city, people watching (one of my favorite things to do) and enjoying the stillness of the environment while probably very lost — and yet still enjoying that espresso — will forever make that my favorite coffee memory.
