Dear coffee friends,

The bubble wrap is out, and we're excited to share that our big move is finally here! On Monday, August 12, we’ll be expanding into a new Neumann Gruppe North America headquarters in Hoboken, N.J.

This will be our fourth office — growing on the work of our San Diego, Houston and Providence teams — as well as our new headquarters, taking over that distinction from Houston.

Situated on the waterfront overlooking downtown Manhattan, and literally steps from the ferry and train stations, we’re going to have spectacular views; a streamlined, from-scratch coffee office (with a pretty rad brew bar); and a world-class QC lab that will also be a certified SCA Training Campus. We can’t wait to not only open our doors every first Tuesday to join in on the Taco Tuesday fun but to develop and offer some serious educational programming. It’s going to be a fantastic lab, and we can’t wait for you to enjoy it and learn in it with us.

As the North American headquarters of Neumann Gruppe, the office will also be the new home of Rothfos Corporation, one of our sister companies in the Neumann Kaffee Gruppe (NKG), as well as of Neumann Gruppe USA, an aligning entity that provides shared backend services such as Human Resources, Accounting, IT Support and Logistics to all Neumann companies in the United States, including Atlas Coffee Importers. While Atlas will remain in Seattle, where it was founded, all four companies will continue to work in close cooperation.

The goal for creating a single, shared space for these three companies was to empower each to work more intelligently and more resourcefully. And over the last few months, collaborating on this transition, our expectations have already been exceeded.

The Hoboken Team

The InterAmerican Hoboken team will include our CEO, Florian Benkhofer; our Senior Vice President and Head of Purchasing, John Mason; and our Head of Marketing, Michelle Maisto. In May, the wonderful Ed Kaufmann joined our Trading team, and he’ll be with us, and so will Trader extraordinaire Emiliano Rice, who will be moving down from Providence.

Amanda Armbrust-Asselin, our fantastic QC coordinator (and now also a certified Brewer’s Cup World Judge!) will be in the lab once a week, and Daniela Altamirano, a colleague from our QC lab in Hamburg, will soon be joining us full time. It’ll be an all-star lineup!
